EXTRUSION BLOW MOLDING Extrusion Blow Molding When desiring an optimum blow molding process it is important to evaluate the process in a scientific manner.
A scientific method is keeping data/records such as set-up sheets, which should be used and posted at every machine. Ideally, this data should be based upon proper digital instrumentation (when possible) or analog instrumentation (when required).
Specifications for screw, barrel, manifold, head, mold(s) and related components should be kept on hand. Additionally, these specifications should be used to ensure proper operating standards and used for routine preventive maintenance programs. This also should be the case for all auxiliary equipment.
Technicians and operators are often the neglected components of the blow molding process. It is important for them to receive the necessary training and education, as well as to understand how critical their contribution is to efficient production.
When troubleshooting, changes should be made one at a time so that the true results of the change can be monitored and documented. If several changes are made at one time, results will be difficult to analyze. Blow Molding General Processing Guidelines
